Toronto-based audio ensemble Six Heads have been creating their unique brand of free-improv surrealist sound collage since emerging from the ashes of junk-instrument collective Urban Refuse Group in 2000. Through improvisation, a wide-ranging and unconventional instrumentation (found objects, homemade instruments, circuit-bent electronics, vinyl, tapes, etc.), and the use of live mixing/audio processing, Six Heads have carved out an unusual niche on the borders of Toronto's noise and improvised music scenes.

"Cardboard Oracle," the band's full-length vinyl LP, was released on Wintage Records and Tapes in 2011. Other releases have appeared on Disembraining Songs, Black Horizons, Psychform, Readymades Tapes, and Surrism-Phonoethics.

Six Heads have appeared at 7a*11d International Performance Art Festival, Bummer In The Summer Festival, Electric Eclectics Festival, and The Ambient Ping. In addition, members of Six Heads have performed at the 2008 Whitney Biennial (NYC), Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville (Quebec), Suoni Per Il Popolo (Montreal), Y2K8 International Live Looping Festival (San Jose, California), Liz Was and Miekal And's Festival of the Swamps (Madison, Wisconsin), on Wire magazine's Resonance FM radio station (London, UK), and at Hal McGee's Dictaphonia Fest (Gainesville, Florida).

Six Heads is James Bailey, William Davison, Linda Feesey, Sherri Lyn Higgins, Colin Hinz, and Peter Mosher.
